The legendary Majorca pearls worn by Her Serene Highness Princess Grace of Monaco were given by His Serene Highness Prince Rainier III. While on their honeymoon, the yacht docked on the Spanish Island of Majorca and Grace did what she loved best, went shopping. Afterward, Rainier asked the shopkeeper what his bride was looking at, and was shown the Majorcan set of Pearls. Rainier purchased the entire set, and gave her a different piece each night! Grace loved the set and promised she would wear them for the rest of her life. Two years later, he had them replicated with fine Pearls, but those remained in the safe. Grace preferred and continued to wear the original faux pearl set for major public appearances, state meetings, dinners, and especially on each Anniversary Day for the next 25 years.
Much like her originals, the rendering by Clarion-Pell is a timeless treasure that includes three strands of graduating ivory faux pearls made in Majorca Spain and secured by hand-knotted silken cords. The inner length of the necklace measures 19 inches and includes a rhodium-plated clasp plus two removable enhancers encrusted with clear Swarovski crystals. Matching bracelet, earrings or ring are available and may be purchased separately.
