Colombian Emerald and Diamond Necklace

This necklace was a Wedding Gift from the film director and personal friend, Alfred Hitchcock. He directed some of Grace Kelly's most famous movies and adored her. One film prior to working with Hitchcock, called 'Green Fire’, was a movie about Emerald hunters in Colombia South America.  Colombia has the most beautiful and expensive Emeralds in the world. Grace was disappointed with her lines and the conditions under which she had to live while filming.   The two had discussed it a great length, and each time they met it became the topic of discussion.  As a partial joke, Hitchcock had this necklace of Colombian Emeralds made especially for her Wedding.

A special necklace well appreciated for its beauty by Grace, and even more appreciated for the thoughtfulness of Alfred Hitchcock.  Each time she wore the necklace it reminded her of the many hours of private tête-à-têtes the two of them had.  As Princess Grace, she agreed to Prince Rainier's request that she would give up acting for the rest of her life. Our rendering of this Colombian Emerald and Diamond Necklace is rhodium plated with clear and green Swarovski crystals. It measures 16 1/2 inches plus includes a 1-inch extension.
